In 2010, the Village Film Festival - Jatiwang Art Factory has invited 4 artist from diferent countries, who were distributed in 4 villages and stayed in people's homes for 2 weeks to interact and collaborate with the villagers, map problems and execute them making a film.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 







The frontier of language and my complete ignorance of local customs, left me as a lone spec tator, stuck to my foreign eye. Confused, instigated, impressed by the beauty of the movements, colors and sounds of the girls from Burujul. What’s the reason for that choreography? Did it have a religious function? Was it a Rehearsal for a military march? A mix of both? Or just an innocent children's game?



















Em 2010, o Village Film Festival - Jatiwang Art Factory convidou 4 artistas de diferentes países, que foram distribuídos em 4 vilarejos e ficaram hospedados nas casas das pessoas por 2 semanas para interagir e colaborar com os moradores, mapear problemas e executá-los em um filme.

A fronteira do idioma e minha total ignorância dos costumes locais me deixaram como um espectador solitário, preso ao meu olhar estrangeiro. Confuso, instigado, impressionado com a beleza dos movimentos, das cores e dos sons das meninas de Burujul. Qual é o motivo daquela coreografia? Tinha alguma função religiosa? Era um ensaio para uma marcha militar? Uma mistura de ambos? Ou apenas uma inocente brincadeira de crianças?
